first flight

In case you don't know, 10:35 am today will mark the 100th anniversary of the kitty hawk flight. I'm surprised by how little coverage this is getting. Tune in if you can, otherwise, close your eyes and imagine two brothers on a beach, holding their breath, not yet aware they'd be the first humans to make a heavy machine fly.

testing the gender genie

today I found the Gender Genie, which is supposed to be able to determine the gender of an author, given their text. It's supposedly scientific.

Since I wrote as a woman a few times in my long-stalled novel, I tried out two passages:

Apparently, Corrina is masculine and Peg is feminine.

For the men, Sam came in masculine. So did I.
